This Shirt is inspired by Vittorio de Sica, Italian cinematography icon, representing his elegant humour which relives in his son Christian, who wore it¬†in the famous theatrical performance “Il Principe Abusivo”.
Handmade in Italy with high quality Popeline Cotton, it is very elegant and represents the item which a real gentleman cannot avoid to have in his wardrobe. With its idden bottons and double cuffs for cufflinks, it is ideal to be worn with a black smoking during a night at theatre.
Hand-cut and hand-sewn. Once the sides have been sewn, the restitching of the armhole is realized with Santillo’s famous ‚Äúpunto a barchetta‚ÄĚ, in order to enhance the softness and strenght of the fabric in the most stressed point of the shirt.
A peculiar detail by Santillo is the sleeve stitching, that is not in line with the side seam because the sleeve is sewn only after the side has been closed. This step is unique and can be done only by the skilled hands of expert artisans. Finally, the ironing and the folding are made by hand too.
The Australian¬†mother-of-pearl buttons¬†are applied by hand with the¬†‚Äúlily stitching‚ÄĚ technique.
