Tell us about your story, how you got into competitive skiing and what you’re passionate about in this sport.
I got into this sport thanks to my family and the fact that where I lived as a child, it used to snow a lot in winter. I’ve had a passion for sports since I was little — I love all kinds of sports — but skiing has always filled my heart the most. What I love most about skiing is being the first one on the slope in the morning, leaving perfect tracks on the fresh snow!
How do the four seasons alternate for you?
Let’s say I’m not really a true “four seasons” person — my life revolves mostly around winter. Even during summer, I often train on glaciers in cold climates, so I go from winter to summer and back to winter again in just a few days!
How do you choose the right clothing for events or free time, and what are the fundamental characteristics you look for in a tailored garment?
As an athlete, I’m usually dressed in very comfortable clothing. Since I wear ski boots and gear every day, when I take a break I really want to feel cozy. That said, I always try to wear my best pieces whenever I get the chance!
I’m a simple person, and when it comes to events, I tend to go for classic looks — for me, a shirt is always the best go-to. Whether white or colorful, it goes with everything, which is why I rely on Santillo. With them, I can express my ideas while staying classy and comfortable — and above all, I can get the perfect fit, which is essential since my muscles need a bit of extra space!
How do you think tailoring and sports can influence each other?
Everything we wear is, in some way, tailoring — whether sporty or not. I think sportswear and tailoring know each other very well. Especially on the slopes, when I see a great-looking uniform, I immediately notice the difference — that extra touch of style always stands out, even in a sports setting!
Have you ever worn classic pieces during sports activities or training?
It may sound strange, but I get cold very easily. That’s why, under my speed suits, you’ll often find cashmere sweaters or vests — and just like that, I’m wearing a classic piece!
What can’t be missing from your bag for a weekend getaway?
For a weekend getaway, I never go without a belt, a scarf, a shirt, and a nice pair of palazzo pants!
Finally, a wish for the upcoming season.
I hope to have an incredible season and to fulfill my dream of going to the Olympics!
